This isn't a Head of Catering role; it's a chance to change lives.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a food offer that goes far beyond the plate. An opportunity to transform the daily experience of children across Devon through access to nourishing, high‑quality food that fuels learning, wellbeing and opportunity. We know that when children are well fed, they are better able to focus, learn and thrive.
As part of Fusion School Services, you will sit at the heart of the Ted Wragg Trust's mission to transform lives, leading a food strategy that treats nourishment as a cornerstone of educational success, not an afterthought. With the recent introduction of Free School Meals auto‑enrolment in Devon Local Authority, there has never been a more powerful moment to rethink what school food can and should be. This role gives you the platform to build a bold, inclusive food strategy that ensures every child can access nutritious, dignified meals every day - no stigma, no barriers.
You will lead our Food Strategy Board, championing investment in our catering services and keeping food firmly central to our ambition to help every child flourish. This is about connecting kitchen and classroom, values and practice, aspiration and delivery. You will provide strategic leadership across catering operations in 18 schools within the Ted Wragg Trust - working alongside school leaders and catering teams to innovate, raise quality and consistency, and deliver strong, sustainable financial performance.
At Fusion, people come first. As part of a growing, education‑focused organisation, you will have real autonomy to shape the future of our catering services and to make a lasting difference to thousands of young people, every single day. You'll also be supported to grow. Through the Ted Wragg Institute, you'll have access to extensive professional development, coaching and leadership opportunities - because we believe those who nourish others deserve to have the very best professional development.
If you believe food can be a force for equity, dignity and change - and you want to lead something that truly matters - we'd love to hear from you.
