The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential by supporting their learning, personal development and wellbeing. Working in partnership with teachers and pastoral colleagues, you will help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student feels supported, challenged and valued.
You will work with students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop independence and build the confidence they need to succeed academically and personally. Through your support, encouragement and positive relationships, you will help improve outcomes and ensure that all students can thrive.
We are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with young people and committed to making a lasting difference to their educational journey. You will be able to build positive relationships with students, work effectively as part of a team and remain calm and professional when supporting students with a range of learning and pastoral needs.
Key responsibilities include: - Supporting students to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
- Working alongside teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences
- Delivering targeted support and interventions for individual students and small groups
- Encouraging students to develop independence, resilience and confidence in their learning
- Supporting students' social, emotional and mental wellbeing in line with school policies and procedures
- Monitoring student engagement and progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Assisting in the preparation and adaptation of learning resources to meet the needs of all learners
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
- Supporting educational visits, enrichment activities and wider school events
- Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, the SENDCo and parents/carers to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed
