We are proud to have been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and are working towards becoming a national leader in education. At the heart of our vision is a simple but powerful belief: every student deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential, regardless of their starting point or individual needs.
A key part of this commitment is our city-leading SEND provision. The NEST is our specialist provision for students with additional needs, offering a small, nurturing primary-style environment within our mainstream secondary school. Designed to provide the very best support for students with communication and interaction needs, The NEST combines highly skilled staff with outstanding facilities, including a state-of-the-art immersive classroom that enables innovative, engaging and personalised learning experiences. This exceptional provision ensures that students can access both specialist support and the wider opportunities available within a mainstream school setting.
We are seeking a committed and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a highly rewarding role where you will work closely with students, teachers and pastoral staff to remove barriers to learning, build confidence and independence, and help every student achieve success. Whether supporting students in the classroom, delivering targeted interventions or providing additional support through our specialist SEND provision, you will play a vital role in helping young people flourish both academically and personally.
Student behaviour at Marine Academy is exemplary. Our leaders maintain the highest expectations and do not tolerate any form of disrespect. Students are exceptionally polite, greet adults confidently and demonstrate genuine kindness and courtesy towards one another. Our strong culture, clear systems and unwavering standards create a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment where both students and staff can thrive. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be joining a school community that values professionalism, teamwork and a relentless commitment to doing the very best for every child. We prioritise staff well-being, offering work-life balance, professional development, and collaboration through the Ted Wragg Trust.
