About the School

Welcome to Selwyn Primary School, an Outstanding-rated primary school in Newham, where every child is encouraged to thrive and achieve their very best. At Selwyn, we provide a happy, vibrant, and inclusive learning environment for children aged 2-11 years. Our vision is to equip every child with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed, both in school and in life. We are also proud to be the primary resourced provision for deaf children in Newham, using a Total Communication approach to ensure all children can access learning and flourish as part of our community. Our engaging and challenging curriculum is carefully designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Beyond the classroom, we offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities and events to bring together pupils, parents, and the wider school community.

About the Role

The role involves supporting children's learning, development, wellbeing, and inclusion within the Early Years environment. This includes assisting with learning activities, supporting children with SEND and individual needs, promoting positive behaviour and independence, maintaining a safe and stimulating classroom, and providing appropriate personal care when required. The role also involves working closely with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and other professionals, following safeguarding procedures, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the classroom.

To thrive in this position, holding a Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (or equivalent) is essential, alongside a genuine passion for early childhood development and a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.
